Gentlemen:
Mark your calendars for the next informal gathering of
the U Club Cigar Society at the Tower Club on Tuesday,
October 4th, 5:00-7:00 pm. BYO cigars and each member
signs his own chit. Any guests interested in a smoke
and a cocktail in good company are also welcome.
October 4th is also the birthday of journalist and
short-story writer Damon Runyon, so this gathering will
be a good opportunity to put on the pinstripes and spats,
drink some whiskey, and maybe throw a few dice with Dave
"the Dude" Morris (who owns more than one pair of spats,
by the way) and Harry "the Horse" Higbie, who reminds
us that "The race is not always to the swift nor the
battle to the strong, but that's the way to bet!"
Business casual. RSVP not required, but helpful.
Your loyal secretary,
Curtis "Good Time" Tuckey
